But then, things got messy. A change in ownership led to a major fiasco that left a sour taste in the mouths of many loyal subscribers (myself included). Quarterly boxes completely stopped; they went radio silent on us. A general sense of “what’s going on?” had us questioning whether Alltrue had lost its way.
Fast forward to today, and Alltrue is under new management. They’ve been working hard to rebuild trust and get back to their roots of delivering meaningful, high-quality products. While the past left some scars, there’s hope that Alltrue is on the upswing.

WHAT IS ALLTRUE?
Alltrue is a quarterly subscription service that features products that are cruelty-free, sustainably made, and eco-friendly. Each box has 6-8 products, worth over $200, that can range anywhere from wellness products, home decor, and art to jewelry, accessories, apparel, and beauty products.
This might sound like your average women’s lifestyle box, but what really sets it apart from the rest is that all the products inside its boxes are sourced from socially, economically, and environmentally conscious brands. Alltrue also aims to empower women while giving back to disadvantaged communities around the world. Past charitable partners include: Freedom Firm, The Jessie Reese Foundation, Books for Africa, and Speak Your Silence.
To choose the brands they feature in the subscription service, Alltrue’s team works directly with the conscious brand founders to understand their backstories and missions. When describing why someone should choose Alltrue, they quoted sustainability author Ann Lappe, “Every time you spend your money, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want.”
How Does Alltrue Work?
Every three months, you’ll receive a box of products worth $250+. The boxes are set to ship 4x per year. You can sign up as an Annual Member (pay for the year in advance, with added perks) or as a Quarterly Member (pay per box seasonally). To sign up, first, you’ll need to select a membership type. After that, you’ll create an account, enter your payment information, then wait for the upcoming season’s box to arrive at your door.
What’s Inside an Alltrue Box?
Alltrue is delivered on a seasonal schedule— spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each box offers 6-8 new products that are customizable or a complete surprise, depending on your membership type and your preference. The product offerings range anywhere from wellness products, housewares, and art to jewelry, accessories, apparel, and beauty products.
One of the distinguishing features of this box is that it comes with a magazine that contains the story behind every product included. This allows you to learn about the items you’re paying for and how they were sourced. Talk about shopping for a cause!
You never know what you’re going to get, but you can feel confident about whatever you do get. If you sign up for the annual subscription service, you get the added flexibility to customize some of the products in your box.
How Much Does Alltrue Cost?
If you sign up for the annual membership ($279.80) your four boxes back out to $69.95 per box. The annual subscription option requires customers to pay a one-time fee upfront. This one-time payment gets you four boxes, delivered every three months.
If that’s too much of a commitment and you’d rather go with a quarterly membership, the cost of each box is $74.95. If you opt for the quarterly membership and end up getting a whole year’s worth up front, you will end up paying $15 more per box than Annual Members. You can also just join as a Quarterly Member to try just the one box before deciding if you want to commit to the annual membership.
In terms of shipping, Alltrue shipping is free in the United States, excluding Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, and US Territories ($7.95 shipping fee).
WHAT ARE THE PERKS OF MY ALLTRUE MEMBERSHIP?
At the beginning of each season, all Alltrue members will receive access to the member exclusive Add-On Market, a curation of Alltrue’s top products offered at up to 70% off. The Add-On Market is a seasonally curated collection and only a limited number of each product is available— so if you see something you like, make sure to move fast before the item sells out!
The Alltrue Customize Tool is also a feature exclusive to annual subscribers, allowing them to customize their box each season. Two weeks before the season begins, annual members are able to review their “choice products” and personalize them how they want. The customizations include choosing the color or pattern for a piece of clothing or swapping out skincare products for hair products.
Please note, this feature is not available for Quarterly Members (all products will remain a surprise). Quarterly Members will have to upgrade to an Annual Membership for Alltrue Custom.
HOW DO I SKIP A BOX OR CANCEL?
No matter which membership option you choose, Alltrue allows subscribers to cancel or pause their subscription at any time. This is a perk that not a lot of subscription boxes out there have. If you decide that the upcoming seasonal box isn’t right for you, you can simply skip the box and your subscription will pick back up in the next season.
IS ALLTRUE WORTH IT?
Considering that each box has an estimated value of over $250, the subscription cost of $70 – $75 is only a quarter of the retail cost of the products. These items are always going to be high quality and made ethically and sustainably, so the value of what you’re getting compared to what you’re paying is pretty high.
On top of that, just knowing that your subscription and purchases create meaningful opportunities for at-risk women across the world should make your membership 100% worth it.
